Botswana Packages 10 days lodge luxury safari Botswana

Day 1 & 2: OKAVANGO DELTA
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by a representative from Orient Express Safaris and transferred by shared light aircraft to Eagle Island Camp. Flying time is approximately 20 minutes.

Hidden from the world, deep within Botswana's Okavango Delta, is the paradise we call Eagle Island Camp. Situated on the island of Xaxaba and surrounded by Illala Palms, the camp overlooks a surrounding lagoon fed by the tranquil waterways of the Delta. The area offers exceptionally high quality wildlife viewing with prolific birdlife and mammal sightings. It is also the site of one of the most romantic bars in the world, the Fish Eagle Bar, as voted by New York Times.

The camp offers a cool retreat from the African sun and is shaded by a canopy of indigenous trees. Xaxaba is one of the Delta's most pristine natural locations, a region of myriad waterways, palm-treed islands and vast flood plains. Bird and animal life in this region is prolific. The camp offers game viewing by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motorised boats and a 14-seater Sundowner cruiser (seasonal). For intrepid explorers with an appetite for sights and sounds of the bush, we offer guided walks.

The magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed during times of high flood from the camp's most romantic Fish Eagle Bar at Eagle Island or from the raised deck overlooking the lagoon. Built to blend into its environment, with private decks overlooking the surrounding lagoon, the camp affords guests with a peaceful setting perfect for enjoying the sights and sounds of the Okavango Delta.

Two nights at Eagle Island Camp on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 3 & 4: MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE

This morning, after a morning activity (game drive, boat cruise, or walk) you will be transferred by shared light aircraft to Khwai River Lodge. Flying time is approximately 25 minutes. Timing for this transfer will be advised in camp.

Nestled on the edge of a lead wood and fig tree forest, overlooking the vast Khwai River floodplains and beyond into the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, sits the luxurious Khwai River Lodge. Khwai is renowned for its large concentrations of mammals and it is not unusual to see many different types of wildlife from the comfort of your own private deck.

As a year round destination for wildlife, predators can regularly be seen in the area, rated as one of the most prolific in Botswana for viewing wildlife. The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs. Birdlife can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge.

This is the perfect location for observing the perennial drama of the African bushveld and provides excellent birding. At Khwai River Lodge, you are close to Africa's heartbeat and at the centre of a world that has not altered since life began. You can sense this from the moment you arrive. Bush hats and desert boots, tall tales and long drinks, a past redolent of trophies and potent sundowners. Upon entering our Khwai River Lodge, you immediately sense its big game heritage.

For decades, as befits one of the most established game lodges in Botswana, it has hosted guests from all over the world on the safari trail. Night game drives and walking excursions are also offered at Khwai River Lodge.

Two nights at Khwai River Lodge on a full board basis including activities.

Day 5 & 6: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK
This morning, after a morning activity, you will be transferred by shared light aircraft to Savute Elephant Camp. Flying time is approximately 20 minutes. Timing for this transfer will be advised in camp.

In the heart of the Chobe National Park, sometimes referred to as the elephant capital of the world, is the Savute, an area that personifies the eternal contrast of Africa. Where our other two camps celebrate water and lush vegetation, Savute is an objective lesson in aridity. Rain in this dry place is rare and water is precious. You find yourself in harmony with a unique timeless place, removed from city life. In Savute, you realise that precious little has changed on these dry plains since time began. And the realisation dawns that you are fortunate and privileged to be in one of the last corners of the planet governed by nature.

The area is known for its exciting game viewing and birding. This area also presents you with the rare opportunity to view rock paintings drawn by the early Bushmen, who once inhabited the region.

Perched on the former banks of the now dry Savute Channel, Savute Elephant Camp offers a spectacular base to explore the area. With a birds’ eye view of the adjacent water hole, just metres away from the camp’s main building, the impressions created at Savute will last forever. The Savute is a dramatic area to see high concentrations of elephant and lions. Prides up to 40 strong are not uncommon as are sighting of all the other major predators: the endangered wild dog, leopard, cheetah and the hyena. Savute is also renowned for its excellent birding during the summer months (December through March).

As this camp is situated in the Chobe National Park, park regulations prohibit night drives and walking, however game viewing activities are offered in the morning and late afternoons in our open safari game viewing vehicles. All tents, public areas and the swimming pool overlook the adjacent water hole, so it is not uncommon to see a wide variety of birds and animals from the privacy of your own tent. Savute also offers a dining experience in the “Boma” or “place of eating” where guests can enjoy a traditional al fresco dining experience while being entertained by our members of staff.

Two nights at Savute Elephant Camp on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 7 & 8: CHOBE CHILWERO
This morning, after a morning activity, you will be transferred by shared light aircraft to Kasane Airport for your shared road transfer to Chobe Chilwero. Flying time is approximately 40 minutes. Timing for this transfer will be advised in camp.

Deep in the heart of Botswana wilderness lies Chobe Chilwero Lodge. With gorgeous vistas as a backdrop, you'll come face-to-face with the abundant creatures of the bush, and some of the most spectacular sunsets Mother Nature bestows.

You will enjoy creative comforts - elegantly appointed accommodations, silver service, gourmet meals and fine wines. Relax in luxurious thatched cottages, with ensuite, sunken handcrafted baths, indoor and outdoor showers, private gardens and terraces overlooking the magnificent Chobe River. There is also a library, a curio shop (craft shop) and a communications centre.

Game activities at Chobe Chilwero include thrilling guided game drives in open vehicles, motorboat excursions on the Chobe River and sun downer cruises, which are particularly spectacular on the Chobe River. Fishing excursions are also available.

End each day with a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, followed by a sumptuous meal - it's the perfect complement to your one-of-a-kind African adventure. High teas are often served on the lawn under the shade of the trees (seasonal). Also available are spa treatments. Therapies range from a Clarins Ultimate Firming Facial to a Full Body Swedish Massage, to relax and invigorate in true African style.

Day 9 & 10: THE ROYAL LIVINGSTONE or THE ZAMBEZI SUN at the VICTORIA FALLS
After a morning activity, you will be transferred by shared road transfer to Kasane Airport for a light aircraft to Livingstone Airport, Zambia. Flying time is approximately 20 minutes. Timing for this transfer will be advised in camp. Here you will be met by a representative for a shared road transfer to the hotel of your choice, either The Royal Livingstone Hotel or The Zambezi Sun Hotel.

LIVINGSTONE
Having one of the seven natural wonders of the world at your doorstep is really a sight to behold and remember. Dr. Livingstone was the first European to discover The Victora Falls, hence the name. This waterfall has always been referred to as “mosi oa tunya” (The Smoke that Thunders) by the locals.

A visit of the Falls is always a good way to start your stay in Livingstone after a dusty safari. The local curio market is right next to the hotel. Livingstone offers a wealth of activities: “Flight of the Angels” for breathtaking air views of the Falls in a helicopter, white water rafting, bungee jumping, sunset cruises on the Zambezi river and many more activities. Close to Livingstone there is also a rhino reserve where one can view these magnificent beasts in a natural habitat.

THE ROYAL LIVINGSTONE HOTEL at the VICTORIA FALLS

Architecturally, the buildings take their cue from African resonances. The Royal Livingstone Hotel stretches luxuriously along the banks of the Zambezi River. The Hotel consists of a series of 17 colonial-style buildings, with deep verandas, set amidst indigenous trees and plants. The main hotel is a sequence of thatch-roofed buildings, most African in there influence, and incorporates a lounge, a restaurant and a bar. A classic swimming pool visually links the waters of the river with the terraces of the hotel, with a sweeping timber deck planted in the swirling water of the Zambezi.

The resort's deep, shaded verandas offer an uninterrupted view of the Zambezi River and are the ideal place to curl up with a book discovered in the well-stocked library. The lounge is filled with original artwork depicting scenes of David Livingstone's great African adventures.

Only footsteps from the Zambezi River, the rooms and suites offer a tranquil retreat from the unconstrained beauty of their surroundings. The Royal Livingstone is a 5-star, 173-roomed luxury hotel. The rooms are two-storey clusters and each cluster comprises approximately 10 en-suite air-conditioned rooms, offering private balconies or terraces. Interior furnishings accentuate the influences of Africa translated into a cultured sumptuousness that reflects the essence of African Bush life. Natural light invades the bathrooms, as the luxurious sized showers allow natural light to filter through a milk-glass window.

ZAMBEZI SUN HOTEL at the VICTORIA FALLS

The Zambezi Sun, near the lush banks of one of the greatest rivers in Mother Africa, is a 3-star favourite for fun-loving adventurers. This ethnic paradise is the most exciting place to enjoy everything that Victoria Falls has to offer, where there is simply something for everybody.

The eclectic architecture, inspired by Zambian tradition, echoes the amazing diversity of the African wilderness, offering guests the experience of being at the heart of this vast and mysterious continent. The hotel has the feel of a centuries-old walled city with open, organic buildings in earthy colours and rambling clusters of rooms.

All 212 en-suite guestrooms are open and airy and decorated with a handcrafted fusion of Zambian designs, providing you with an atmosphere that is bright, fun and welcoming. All rooms are air-conditioned, with satellite television, a mini safe, telephone, as well as tea and coffee-making facilities.
