Golf packages South Africa - 10 days Kruger Park Mpumalanga Leopard Creeck golfing package

Day 1

Upon arrival at Johannesburg International airport you will be transferred to the Sabi River Sun. Our journey will take approximately 4 hours. Situated along the banks of the Sabi River, the Sabi River Sun is surrounded by magnificent scenery. In close proximity is the world-famous Kruger National Park.

The guestrooms offer luxurious accommodation, with private bathrooms, air conditioning and satellite TV. The resort boasts unrivalled sporting facilities, including an 18-hole golf course, 5 swimming pools, 3 floodlit tennis courts, a bowling green, squash court, volleyball, mountain biking and river rafting (during summer). For the less energetic, there are nature walks, bird watching, sightings of the resident Crocodiles or Hippos, the experience of a game drive, a sight seeing tour, or just relaxing next to the river. The Hippopotamus Restaurant offers mouth-watering breakfasts and dinners. Light snacks are available on the terrace overlooking the golf course. The Waterhole Bar is a popular venue for guests to get together and enjoy a pre-dinner drink or an after-dinner liqueur. This charming resort offers guests warm hospitality and outstanding leisure facilities in a setting designed for pure relaxation.

Day 2

After breakfast you will be on the Golf Course. One of Sabi's greatest attractions is its magnificent 18-hole Championship golf course, featuring Hippo pools and spectacular fairways. Tonight you will be treated to a night drive in the Kruger Park and get the opportunity to see the big 5.

Day 3

Scenic tour. Believe this, Mpumalanga is one of the most beautiful and natural places in the world. I will be taking you to God's Window, Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the historical town of pilgrims rest. Make sure that you have enough film in your camera. Mpumalanga, which means "land of the rising sun" in the local SiSwati language, has it all -- from exhilarating wildlife, to secluded mountain retreats, ancient ruined cities, wild water sports, and some of South Africa's most diverse and vibrant African cultures.

With Mist shrouded waterfalls, the incomparable Blyde River Canyon, caves occupied by man for 50,000 years, and a floral kaleidoscope unmatched in the sub-continent are just some of Mpumalanga's natural wonders. The region offers so many radically different biomes and geological quirks that local tourists return year after year for winter snows in Lydenburg, steamy primeval forests in the Low veldt, and the otherworldly vistas of the escarpment

Day 4

Golf and relaxation for the day.

The province's year-round sunny weather, soaring peaks, steamy jungles and expansive waterways have also made it home to a bewildering array of adventure sport, from expeditions down the world's oldest caves, to taking flight at the continent's largest paragliding festival.

Day 5

You will be up fairly early this morning. We will begin our Journey to Malelane Resort taking a route through the southern end of Kruger Park where again we will get to view game. This Journey will take up to four hours all within the reserve. Believe us!!! You will not be bored. You will have time for an afternoon round at Leopard Creek Golf Course.

Malelane Resort is ideally situated at the gateway of Kruger National Park, this superb resort offers a unique opportunity to experience golf at the number 1 rated course in Southern Africa combined with first class luxury.

Leopard Creek has overtaken perennial No 1, The Gary Player Country Club, for top spot on the 100 greatest golf courses in 2005. One of the more exclusive golf courses in a country where most are open to the public, Leopard Creek has been steadily closing the gap on the No1 position. The course has enjoyed tremendous TV exposure with first the Sunshine Tour Championship being played there, and in December the Dunhill Championship, which also brought this magnificent layout to the attention of viewers around the world.

Owned by Johann Rupert, chairman of the SA Tour, who has invested a lot of money, passion and time into his golf course, Leopard Creek is members – only club, similar to Augusta National in that in that members are invited to join. Yet at the same time it is open to visitors and not just wealthy ones.

Day 6

Why come all the way to South Africa and only get to play Leopard Creek once? Today you will have the good fortune of having another round of golf at this magnificent course. We will leave Malelane in the afternoon for Sabi taking a separate route through the southern end of Kruger Park where again we will get to view game.

Day 7

You will be playing golf at White River Golf Club. Rated the second best course in Mpumalanga behind Leopard Creek, White River Golf Course was designed by Gary Player 25 years ago as a 9-hole course and later revamped to an exciting 18-hole layout.

The course offers a great challenge to the amateur and professional golfer. The old 9-hole golf course at White River has been completely revamped into a new and exciting 18-hole layout. Gary Player and Reg Taylor played a part in the design and golfers of all levels invariably enjoy the course. Two of the par-fives, namely number 7 and number 11 are comparable to the Augusta National in their beauty, challenge and abundance of water.

Day 8

Golf at Sabi and relaxation for the day before undertaking another night drive into Kruger Park.

Day 9

The final day will be at your disposal. Perhaps a visit to one of Pilgrim Rest’s many bars or maybe a stint of white water rafting. There are an abundance of adventures available within close proximity of Sabi and we will of course recommend and supply transport to any activities you may want to experience.
